LG Energy Solution Australia has recalled various LG Chem home batteries over fire concerns. The recall notice is issued for LG Chem RESU models and battery packs with cells from specific production lots. The voluntary recall was first issued in the USA in December 2020 after receiving five reports of fires resulting in minor property damage. As per news reports, these incidents were associated with LG Chem RESU 10H residential energy storage systems with specific serial numbers sold from January 2017 through March 2019. The recall involved around 1,800 battery systems. If you’ve installed solar power and an LG battery, it’s well worth checking your battery is not affected.
